Solving the worlds problems was serious stuff in the Charlie Battery Canteen. And this image is no exception. Of those who can be seen from left to right are:

Leo Quinlan, Robert Appenzeller, Clifford Scott, Robert Hamilton, Lester Archambeau, and the bartender is Bob Norkol.

John Aguirre, Bobby Hare, Gene Osment, Bobby Johnson, and Horace Reed had the munchies for a Haberschlact Schnitzel, and were they good.

Looking back, the deep fried breaded veal cutlet probably was not the most healthy snack to eat, but that was not an issue then.

Many a time while on duty in the launching area someone was “volunteered” to hop in the jeep and drive down to the Gesthaus Oxen in Haberschlacht for goodies to enhance our pinocle games in between the old 2 on 4 off guard duty tours. In fact that delicious German dark bread was as good as what was inside.

a high stakes card game with the likes of Jim Fitzpatrick dealing, and to his left and around the table is Johnny Vytrcil, Martin Rivera, Bill Mansell, John Aguirre, Leo Brach, and Bill Harris. That looks like a pretty thick deck, so I'm guessing it's a double deck pinocle game.
