Comments: Hello, we are from Germany near Hardheim.
We wrote here in this guestbook ~9months ago. Simone is searching for her father Willi Kitchen. She saw him about 44 years ago when she was about 2 years old. Can somebody help us?
Here are the things we found the last months of Willi Kitchen.
Age: he was born at 30.September.19??, (between 1946 and 1950, rather 1946/47) Middle initial: Albert (Willi or William Albert Kitchen) He is a colored man Stationed in Hardheim: ~1970, Charlie Batterie 3rd Missile Battalion 71 st Artillery State he might have been when he went back: Florida (~43years ago)
I found one man (Joseph Torres) wich was driven from Willie Kitchen to the airprot in Frankfurt as he went home to the USA. He was station with Kitchen from 1969 to 1971. He (Joseph Torres)has seen Willis daughter when she was a baby in Germany. But he has never heard something from Willie Kitchen.
We hope I hear from anyone, please write if you know anything about Willi.
Comments: Thanks Dean for the important work of preserving this slice of history!

Comments: Helga and I are very grateful that I was assigned to C 3/71. We meet in 1965 and were married 3 Sept, 1966 50 years ago. Some said that it would not last a year but I guess they were wrong. We have survived 50 years with our 2 very successful sons and our 6 beautiful grandchildren. I know i,m bragging but it is what it is. Thanks C 3/71.

Comments: I need your support and help! In the history of Kleingartach there is a problematic topic: The closing of the site in 1969. Known date is the official closing in July 1969; but a soldier tells me that he came in April 1969 to C 3/71 Hardheim, and nobody there knows something about Kleingartach. I guess that Kleingartach was really closed in March/April 1969, together with 1/67 sites. Two notices: Knows anybody the effective deactivation date or the time frame; and the reason(s) why, and especially Kleingartach, was closed? Who can provide records or further helpful informations, references, tips and so on regarding my first notice?
Thank you very much for your effort!
